- Lead strategic capacity planning initiatives supporting Alphabet’s infrastructure investments across compute, storage, networking, power, and data center infrastructure. Evaluate infrastructure alternatives by analyzing demand growth, engineering constraints, supply availability, deployment options, investment trade-offs, and business risks.
- Develop planning frameworks that improve the speed, consistency, and quality of infrastructure planning decisions. Build executive-ready business cases, investment analyses, and recommendations supporting infrastructure prioritization and allocation decisions.
- Partner across product areas, engineering, supply chain, finance, and data science to integrate evolving planning signals into a unified infrastructure plan of record.
- Define planning assumptions, evaluation methodologies, business rules, and decision frameworks that improve planning quality across Alphabet.
- Partner with Engineering teams to define business requirements for capacity planning systems, optimization capabilities, and decision-support tooling. Integrate planning recommendations into Alphabet’s long-range infrastructure planning and executive investment processes.
Requirements

- 8 years of experience in technical program management, capacity planning, infrastructure planning, strategy, program management, supply chain, finance, business operations, or management consulting.
- 8 years of experience leading cross-functional planning initiatives involving engineering, product, operations, or finance organizations.
- 8 years of experience performing quantitative analysis and presenting recommendations to executive leadership.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience in hyperscale infrastructure planning, capacity planning, investment planning, or infrastructure strategy.
- Experience evaluating infrastructure investment trade-offs, resource allocation, or supply planning decisions.
- Ability to simplify complex infrastructure planning problems into clear, data-driven executive recommendations.
- Excellent problem solving, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.

As a Capacity Planning Lead, you will lead strategic infrastructure planning initiatives that evaluate future capacity requirements, analyze infrastructure trade-offs, and develop executive recommendations that influence Alphabet’s infrastructure investment strategy. Working across Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Data Science, you will help shape how Alphabet allocates billions of dollars of infrastructure investment while balancing performance, availability, cost, and delivery risk.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
