Job description

Every number an advertiser sees in Amazon Ads passes through our platform. We process 40 billion records a day and are building the next generation of this system on a Lakehouse architecture - making it the data foundation for AI-powered advertising products that millions of advertisers depend on. We need an engineer who wants to own that work, write production code, and ship systems at this scale. You’re joining at an exciting time: the team is building a new Lakehouse architecture that gives both human-facing reporting surfaces and AI agents the same governed, queryable interface to advertising data. AI agents already query our platform at inference time to answer advertiser questions and power automated campaign management - and that usage is growing fast. You’ll build both the core platform and the AI-powered tooling that makes it easier to operate. Engineers on this team have already shipped autonomous operations agents and lineage tracing tools that are in production today., * Build data pipelines that turn raw advertising events into the metrics advertisers use to measure and grow their businesses

  • Design and ship new platform capabilities using table-based architectures that unlock faster onboarding, simpler operations, and broader data access
  • Create automated validation and monitoring that keeps data accurate at scale
  • Improve infrastructure efficiency and reduce operational costs across a large compute fleet
  • Work with partner teams to onboard new advertising products onto the reporting platform
  • Build AI-powered tooling and autonomous operations agents that improve platform reliability and developer productivity

About the team We sit within Amazon Advertising and own the reporting data layer end to end. Our team is 13 engineers across two locations. Core technologies: Java, Python, TypeScript (AWS CDK), Apache Spark on EMR, Apache Iceberg - plus EKS, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Athena. Senior engineers mentor newer team members, and the growth path leads to owning platform-level initiatives, setting architectural direction, and becoming a technical point of contact across the organization.
