Field Installation Technician

We’re hiring experienced field technicians/assists to support a major store reset and fixture installation project at Best Buy. You’ll be part of a high-performance team installing new fixtures, executing merchandising standards, and maintaining best-in-class standards for one of America’s premier retailers.

This is hands-on, team-focused work where your attention to detail and safety directly impact customer experience and store appearance.

What You’ll Do

• Fixture Assembly & Installation: Assemble and install display fixtures, shelving, and point-of-sale systems per engineering specifications and Best Buy brand standards
• Merchandising Execution: Place products and signage according to approved planograms, ensuring consistent spacing, alignment, and professional appearance
• Scissor Lift Operation: Operate lifts safely for overhead installation work (training provided; certification may be required)
• Quality Control: Perform visual inspections and measurements to ensure fixtures are level, secure, and meet all standards before sign-off
• Documentation & Photography: Take before/after photos and document work completion through digital platforms
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report hazards immediately
• Team Support: Work collaboratively under crew lead direction and support team members to meet daily scope targets

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in fixture installation, carpentry, or related field work
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions
• Comfortable working at heights using scissor lifts or ladders
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel to assigned store location
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Preferred

• Experience with retail store installations or resets
• Familiarity with Best Buy or similar retail environments
• Scissor lift certification or equivalent equipment experience
• Experience with hand tools and power tools
• Procore or digital documentation platform experience
• Knowledge of retail merchandising standards

• Willing to work full project duration
• Able to work 7am-5pm or similar schedule (may vary by location)
• Clean, professional appearance and positive attitude
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Zero tolerance for safety shortcuts

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods
• Regular lifting of 50+ lbs
• Able to work at heights with scissor lifts
• Comfortable in retail store environment with customer foot traffic
