Job description

About the Role : New York City is redesigning how millions of residents experience nyc.gov and we need an AEM Solutions Lead to help build it. You’ll take the lead on the NYC Design System’s AEM implementation, shaping the components, templates, and workflows that power guided digital experiences across the city’s flagship website. This is a chance to bring deep AEM expertise to a project with real, visible civic impact, while growing into a technical leadership role that mentors the next generation of developers. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain AEM components, templates, workflows, and integrations that are stable and performant across environments Take ownership of Dispatcher configuration, caching, and system performance and be the person the team turns to when something needs troubleshooting Support CI/CD pipelines, including Cloud Manager operations, automated builds, deployments, and testing Partner with Architects and Product Owners to turn requirements into scalable technical solutions Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers, helping raise the bar on AEM development practices across the team Connect AEM to third-party systems CRM, DAM, analytics tools, and custom APIs to expand what the platform can do Monitor application health and build out observability and diagnostics so issues get caught early Stay ahead of the curve on AEM features, cloud services, and the broader Adobe Experience Cloud roadmap

Requirements

8-10/ + years building with AEM, with strong hands-on experience across AEM Sites, Assets, and Sling Jobs/workflows 3+ years of custom application development outside of AEM or Adobe Cloud An AEM certification Sites Architect, Sites Lead, DevOps, or Sites Developer A track record of technical leadership: mentoring developers, running code reviews, and championing DevOps, Cloud, and Agile best practices Comfort partnering directly with business stakeholders to shape requirements and identify risks early Fluency in Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), and front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Real depth in Dispatcher configuration, caching strategy, and performance tuning Experience deploying to both AEM Cloud Service and on-prem environments Hands-on work with CI/CD tooling Git, Maven, Jenkins, or similar A troubleshooter’s instinct for resolving production issues under pressure Familiarity with Agile teams and collaboration tools Nice to Have Adobe Target experience Adobe Analytics integration with AEM Akamai CDN for websites Translation tooling such as Smartling or TransPerfect Search platforms like Coveo or Solr
