IT Systems Support Specialist (SAP ABAP)

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Support Specialist with strong expertise in SAP ERP ABAP development to support a large public sector technology environment in Sacramento, CA. This is a full-time onsite contract opportunity where you’ll develop, enhance, and maintain SAP HR Benefits and Payroll solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams., * Design, develop, test, and maintain SAP ABAP applications within SAP ECC 6.0.

• Support SAP HR Benefits and Payroll development initiatives.
• Develop and maintain payroll and benefits reports for business users.
• Automate business processes related to employee benefits administration.
• Develop custom reports involving payroll deductions, retroactive adjustments, and payroll data analysis.
• Create technical documentation for applications, enhancements, and support activities.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with functional analysts, business stakeholders, and technical team members.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.

The ideal candidate is an experienced SAP ABAP developer with excellent communication skills, strong documentation abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality technical solutions., * 5+ years of hands-on SAP ERP ABAP development experience in SAP ECC 6.0.

• Experience working across multiple SAP ERP modules.
• Strong knowledge of:
• ABAP Programming
• Web Dynpro ABAP
• BAPIs
• Enhancement Framework
• SAP Workflows
• Adobe Forms
• SmartForms
• SAPscript
• ABAP on HANA
• Experience optimizing SAP applications for performance and efficiency.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience creating clear technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP HR Benefits and Payroll.
• Experience developing payroll reporting solutions.
• Experience working within a government or public sector environment.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to team members., * SAP HR Benefits and Payroll.: 1 year (Required)
• SAP ERP ABAP development: 5 years (Required)
• SAP ECC 6.0: 5 years (Required)
