Job description
We are seeking a Part-Time Web Accessibility Specialist to help ensure web platforms meet the highest accessibility and usability standards.
If you excel at auditing websites, WCAG/ADA compliance, and refining web content, we’d love to connect!, * Conduct accessibility audits and remediate web pages to meet ADA Level AA & WCAG 2.1 standards.
- Refine and optimize web content using plain language and user-centered design principles.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to modernize website structure and navigation.
- Develop graphic assets and layout templates that comply with accessibility guidelines.
- Create documentation, governance workflows, and training materials for content creators.
Requirements
Must-Have Experience:
- Accessibility Standards: 3+ years implementing ADA, WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA standards.
- Content Management Systems: Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or enterprise-level CMS platforms.
- Testing Tools: Proficiency with accessibility auditing tools such as WAVE, Axe, Siteimprove, or similar.
- Design & UX: Background in User Experience (UX), info architecture, and accessible graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Communications, IT, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Accessibility certifications (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
- Experience in public sector, government, or large enterprise environments.
- Experience managing both internal intranet portals and public-facing websites.
