Job description
As Surveyor, you will be playing a critical role in the construction of novel battery chemical plant(s) near Corpus Christi, TX. You will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive survey program. This role is critical to ensuring accurate spatial data, precise alignment, and seamless integration of survey deliverables across all project phases-from initial site development through construction completion and handover. What You’ll Do
- Develop the complete survey program from inception
- Survey scopes of work, technical specifications, and contract documents for procurement
- Oversee all survey disciplines including geodetic and topographic surveys, construction staking and layout, as-built surveys and verification, monitoring and deformation surveys
- Ensure integration of survey data with engineering design models (BIM/CAD) and GIS platforms
- Evaluate and implement emerging survey technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Build, lead, and mentor the internal survey team
- Coordinate survey activities with engineering, construction, and project controls teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants, refineries)
- Demonstrated experience developing survey programs for large-scale industrial projects (refineries, petrochemical, LNG, or similar preferred)
- Experience managing survey operations on projects exceeding $250M in value
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or equivalent certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of: total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, and digital levels, survey software (e.g., Leica Infinity, AutoCAD Civil 3D)
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, geodetic principles, and survey adjustments
