Job description
Technology Strategy & AI Leadership
- Own and continuously evolve Guidelight’s enterprise technology roadmap aligned to clinical, operational, and financial objectives.
- Champion AI adoption across the organization - identify, evaluate, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve behavioral health outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate AI vendors and tools (e.g., ambient documentation, AI-assisted coding, intelligent intake triage) and lead implementation with Clinical and Operations leadership.
- Serve as the internal AI evangelist, educating leaders on responsible AI use and technical safeguards.
- Make and communicate build vs. buy vs. partner decisions across all technology verticals.
- Present technology strategy, AI roadmap, and enterprise risk posture to the CEO and board.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Own all IT infrastructure - cloud environments, network, endpoint management, and clinic-level systems - ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Manage new clinic launch provisioning, improving speed and consistency as growth accelerates.
- Oversee vendor and MSP relationships, including performance management, SLA accountability, and contract governance.
- Ensure systems support multi-state, multi-clinic operations at scale.
Cybersecurity & Technical Risk Management
- Build and continuously mature Guidelight’s enterprise cybersecurity program.
- Conduct technology and cybersecurity risk assessments; develop security roadmaps and remediation strategies.
- Oversee identity and access management, vulnerability management, endpoint and cloud security, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Partner with Compliance and Privacy on incident response and technical risk mitigation.
- Maintain alignment with HIPAA, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and HITRUST maturity standards.
Vendor Technology Governance
- Lead technical vendor governance and third-party technology risk management.
- Perform technical due diligence for new systems and vendors, evaluating cybersecurity, AI, cloud, and interoperability risks.
- Partner with Compliance, Privacy, Legal, and Procurement during vendor selection and oversight.
- Establish lifecycle management and governance standards for all technology partnerships.
Engineering & Product Development
- Build and lead a software engineering function capable of developing internal tools, integrations, and AI-enabled workflow automation.
- Partner with Clinical, Operations, and Finance to translate business requirements into engineered solutions.
- Oversee EHR integrations (Kipu), billing automation, and intake technology.
- Develop engineering team structure, hiring plan, and capability roadmap.
Data & Analytics Infrastructure
- Build and own Guidelight’s data architecture, pipelines, governance, and access.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and accessibility for decision-making.
- Oversee data infrastructure vendors (e.g., Snowflake, Domo) and ensure delivery quality.
- Drive a data-driven culture connecting insights to patient outcomes, clinic performance, and payer relationships.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing technology team across IT, engineering, and data.
- Define career paths, performance expectations, and development frameworks.
- Foster a culture of ownership, responsiveness, and continuous improvement aligned with Guidelight’s mission.
- Lead technology budgeting, workforce planning, and succession planning.
Regulatory & Accreditation Responsibilities
Partner with Compliance, Privacy, Clinical, Operations, and Legal to ensure technology capabilities support compliance with:
- CMS Certified Community Mental Health Center Conditions of Participation (42 CFR Part 485, Subpart J)
- CARF Behavioral Health Standards
- HIPAA Security Rule
- Applicable state behavioral health licensing requirements
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and HITRUST
Technology is responsible for implementing and maintaining technical capabilities that support compliance. Compliance and Privacy retain responsibility for regulatory interpretation, policy governance, and oversight.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including 3-5 years in a VP or senior director role.
- Proven experience building and scaling technology organizations.
- Deep fluency in AI and practical experience implementing enterprise AI solutions.
- Healthcare technology experience required; behavioral health or multi-site operations preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, healthcare data governance, and security frameworks.
- Strong financial acumen and experience owning a technology budget.
- Track record of building high-performing teams and leading through ambiguity.
Preferred:
- Experience with EHR platforms (Kipu or similar).
- Familiarity with AI-enabled clinical documentation and intake tools.
- Experience with modern data stack technologies (Snowflake, dbt, Domo).
- Background in multi-state, growth-stage healthcare operations.

The Vice President of Technology will own that transformation - rapidly assessing needs, building scalable systems, and leading a technology organization capable of supporting a company ten times its current size. This leader will be both strategic and hands-on, equally comfortable in a boardroom conversation about AI strategy and a technical discussion about data architecture.
