Job description
You’ll work closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to develop technical concepts, prepare proposals, estimate project costs, and help define innovative robotic and automation systems across a variety of industries. If you enjoy combining engineering, problem-solving, and customer interaction, this is an opportunity to work on highly customized automation projects from concept through project kickoff.
What You’ll Do
- Develop custom automation concepts based on customer manufacturing challenges
- Create technical proposals, budgets, and project cost estimates
- Evaluate project feasibility, technical risk, and overall solution approach
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers during customer discussions and technical presentations
- Define system architecture including robotics, conveyors, vision, motion, pneumatics, and controls
- Utilize CAD tools to develop automation concepts and layouts
- Support project handoff to engineering and project management after award
- Stay current on emerging automation technologies and manufacturing trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 3-5+ years of experience in applications engineering or industrial automation.
- Experience developing automation concepts and customer solutions
- Understanding of robotic automation, PLCs, motion control, machine vision, and industrial manufacturing
- Experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with both customers and internal engineering teams
- Experience with proposal development, estimating, or technical quotations is highly preferred
