Job description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Application Analyst - Ambulatory to join our Clinical Informatics and Data Analytics (CIDA) team. In this role, you will support, optimize, and enhance Epic Ambulatory applications and workflows that help providers and care teams deliver exceptional patient care across physician practices and outpatient settings.
Working closely with providers, clinic leaders, operational teams, and fellow analysts, you will help configure, maintain, and improve the systems that support scheduling, documentation, orders, referrals, patient communication, and other critical ambulatory functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, workflow optimization, and partnering with stakeholders to improve healthcare delivery through technology.
You’ll play a key role in supporting organizational growth, system enhancements, and strategic initiatives that improve both the provider and patient experience., * Configure, build, test, implement, and support Epic Ambulatory and related clinical applications
- Partner with providers, clinic staff, and operational leaders to understand business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution for end users
- Analyze and optimize ambulatory workflows to improve efficiency, user satisfaction, and patient care outcomes
- Coordinate and support system upgrades, updates, enhancements, and go-live activities
- Support new clinic, department, and facility build activities as the health system continues to grow
- Collaborate with other CIDA, DTS, and operational teams on integrations, interfaces, and enterprise initiatives
- Create and maintain application documentation, workflow designs, build standards, and support materials
- Participate in medium- to large-scale projects involving ambulatory technology and workflow improvements
- Support testing efforts for upgrades, implementations, and system enhancements
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned ambulatory applications and workflows
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend solutions that enhance operational effectiveness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting healthcare applications, clinical systems, or healthcare technology environments
- Knowledge of ambulatory workflows, including provider documentation, scheduling, orders, referrals, and patient management processes
- Experience with application configuration, implementation, testing, and support
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with workflow analysis and process improvement initiatives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service
Preferred:
- Epic Ambulatory certification
- Five or more years of experience supporting clinical applications or healthcare IT systems
- Experience with Epic application upgrades, optimization, and workflow design
- Experience supporting physician practices, ambulatory clinics, or outpatient operations
- Knowledge of system integrations and interface workflows
