Perma-Seal Basement Systems is seeking an experienced Technical Field Specialist - Attic Insulation to provide technical expertise and field support to our installation teams while helping ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Candidates must have prior hands-on attic insulation installation experience.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this hands-on field position serves as the technical expert for attic insulation projects. The Technical Field Specialist is responsible for supporting installation teams, conducting quality inspections, troubleshooting field challenges, coaching installers on best practices, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and guidance to attic insulation installation crews in the field.
- Conduct job site visits to verify installation quality, safety compliance, and adherence to company standards.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and develop effective field solutions.
- Train and mentor installers on proper installation methods, air sealing techniques, ventilation requirements, and industry best practices.
- Perform quality assurance inspections and identify opportunities to improve workmanship and efficiency.
- Serve as the technical resource for attic insulation systems, materials, and installation processes.
- Partner with Operations and Production to resolve technical issues and ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project progress, technical questions, and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, inspection reports, and project notes.
- Promote and enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and quality standards.
- Assist with product evaluations, equipment recommendations, and continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on attic insulation installation experience required.
- Strong knowledge of blown-in insulation, batt insulation, air sealing, attic ventilation, insulation systems, and building science principles.
- Ability to diagnose installation issues and provide practical technical solutions.
- Experience conducting quality inspections and ensuring installation standards are met.
- Previous experience as a Lead Installer, Technical Trainer, Quality Control Specialist, or Field Specialist preferred.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical field leadership or quality assurance experience preferred.
