Job description
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure optimal use and security of our systems and technology
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, software, and hardware to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Lead the planning, budgeting, and implementation of IT projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and within allocated resources
- Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware, software, and networking systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity
- Manage and provide technical support to end-users, addressing any IT-related issues and ensuring adequate training and resources are available
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address technology needs, and effectively communicate with staff at all levels to understand and meet their requirements
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations in IT, and make recommendations for improvement and compliance
- Oversee the security and protection of the organization’s data, network, and systems, and implement disaster recovery plans as needed
- Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of services
- Lead and supervise a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive and productive work environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a non-profit or social services setting
- Strong knowledge and experience with networking, telecommunications, servers, and cloud-based systems
- Proficient in project management, system administration, and creating and managing budgets
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities and committed to the organization’s mission and values
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or Microsoft or Cisco are a plus
Benefits & conditions
This is a full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed. The IT Manager will primarily work in an office setting, but may also visit other Wingspan locations as needed. The position may require occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30lbs for equipment and supplies.
