Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT / Networking Technician to support day-to-day IT, hardware, and basic network operations. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with a CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification who is comfortable troubleshooting computers, installing and moving equipment, making network cable changes, and supporting users in a commercial environment., * Move desktop computers, phones, printers, and other IT equipment to new workstations
- Install and configure new hardware and connect devices to the local network
- Set up and support Windows and Mac computers
- Change network cable drops and patch panel connections
- Perform basic network cabling and connectivity changes
- Troubleshoot day-to-day computer, printer, network, and connectivity issues
- Perform basic network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi
- Assist with office moves, new workstation setups, and office additions
- Install and connect phones, computers, printers, and other networked devices
- Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware, networking equipment, and related parts
- Safely move and handle computers, monitors, printers, networking equipment, and other IT hardware
- Work under desks, in telecommunications rooms, and in server rooms as needed
- Communicate clearly with employees and provide professional technical support
- Follow established IT procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements
The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, basic networking knowledge, and the ability to work hands-on with computers, phones, printers, cabling, and network equipment., * CompTIA A+ certification required
- CompTIA Network+ certification is a plus
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting computers, printers, and network connectivity
- Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
- Basic understanding of:
- TCP/IP
- DHCP
- DNS
- Wi-Fi
- Local Area Networks (LAN)
- Experience connecting computers and other devices to a network
- Familiarity with network cabling, patch panels, and network equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and other hardware
- Comfortable working under desks and in server/telecommunications rooms
Preferred Experience
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- Experience with structured/network cabling
- Experience with patch panels and network switches
- Experience supporting office moves and workstation deployments
- Experience with IT hardware inventory
- Help desk or desktop support experience
- Experience in a commercial or corporate IT environment
