We are seeking an experienced Technical Assistance Specialist for a temporary contract opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role supports dealership service teams by providing expert guidance on engine diagnostics, repair approvals, warranty reviews, and technical problem resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled automotive technician looking to leverage their diagnostic expertise in a professional office-based environment. Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide warranty approvals for engine repair requests from dealership technicians.
- Deliver technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex vehicle repair concerns.
- Document, track, and manage technical cases within the Technical Assistance Database.
- Analyze vehicle systems, specifications, and repair information to support field inquiries.
- Research electrical, drivability, and OBD II emissions-related concerns.
- Generate reports and trend analyses to identify recurring technical issues.
- Support parts and technical hotline teams with product and repair-related inquiries.
- Assist in validating service information and technical publications.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of dealership technician experience required.
- Strong engine diagnostic, electrical system, and OBD II troubleshooting experience.
- Two-year Automotive Technology degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
- ASE Certifications preferred; Master ASE Certification highly desired.
- Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
