SAP Production Planning - Detailed Scheduling Lead PP-DS Workstream Lead - S/4HANA Manufacturing Implementation Program | Japan Manufacturing Operations | Bilingual EN/JP required TOP SKILLS FOR THIS ROLE 1 End-to-end PP-DS workstream ownership - from validation workshops through design, build, test, cutover and planner adoption. 2 Hands-on finite scheduling with decision authority - choose, defend and configure PP-DS heuristics vs. the PP/DS Optimizer. 3 Scope containment on the flexible machine × mold × tool × cavity master-data extension, gated behind conditions precedent. 4 Planner adoption - moving siloed planners off spreadsheets onto one plant-wide system of record, demonstrably faster. Role Overview Planning today is manual, spreadsheet-based, and dependent on ~9 systems per line. The target is a single constraint-aware, plant-wide plan in SAP S/4HANA PP-DS - targeting a 90% reduction in planner time and genuine what-if capability. Most requirements are standard configuration; the residual scope is one bounded flexible master-data theme. This is a working lead role: delivery accountability plus hands-on configuration. Key Responsibilities

• Own PP-DS workstream plan, scope and milestones; lead validation workshops through signed-off functional design.
• Hold decision authority on heuristics vs. PP/DS Optimizer, including POC and downstream consequences.
• Lead PP-DS master-data and finite-scheduling configuration (PDS, resources/capacity, setup matrices, planning board, alert monitor).
• Own demand intake/forecast consumption design, incl. cross-entity model and batch/shelf-life-aware net requirements.
• Bound and gate the flexible machine/mold/tool/cavity extension; resist scope growth beyond it.
• Direct technical team on WRICEF objects; manage cross-workstream dependencies; own test strategy and planner enablement through hypercare.
• BATCH MANAGEMENT & TRACEABILITY - REQUIRED AT A WORKING-DESIGN LEVEL Batch configuration itself sits with PP/QM and Inventory, but planning behavior must account for batch/shelf-life data - age-aware net requirements, source traceability, and carrying resolved machine/tool/mold/cavity detail through to the production order.

• 10+ years SAP SC planning consulting, 4+ full-lifecycle, 1+ as workstream/module lead with delivery accountability.
• Hands-on PP-DS config on 2+ S/4HANA embedded PP-DS implementations (1909+); APO PP/DS with S/4 transition considered.
• Deep PP-DS master-data expertise; hands-on heuristics AND PP/DS Optimizer with evidence to recommend one.

• Finite-scheduling design in constraint-rich discrete environments; experience directing consultants/developers. Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Japanese (business level) preferred, not required; prior Japan/Japanese manufacturing delivery.
• Injection molding, stamping or similar tool/mold-constrained manufacturing with cavity-level planning.
• Advanced ATP/backorder/pegging reporting; PRT modeling; SAP BTP extensibility; SAP PP-DS/APO certification. Language & Engagement Fluent English required; business-level Japanese a strong advantage, not a condition of appointment. Full-time, Explore through Deploy, on-site during workshops, testing, enablement, cutover and hypercare. Reports to the Program Manager, leading PP-DS consultants and working with divisional planning SMEs and local IT.
