Job description
- Build infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef) version-controlled, peer-reviewed, CI/CD-deployed
- Apply security principles (least privilege, defense in depth, zero trust) to system design
- Own system hardening baselines and CVE response workflows
- Design and enforce compliance-as-code: drift detection, secret detection, automated remediation, and audit trails
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability
- Conduct capacity planning and performance engineering across computers, storage, and network layers
- Maintain Git-based workflows for all infrastructure changes - branching, code review, merge pipelines
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for configuration deployment, image builds, and validation
- Manage configuration management at scale using Puppet, Chef, or Ansible across heterogeneous environments
- Automate everything from provisioning, compliance checks, patching until decommissioning,
- Address complex cross-system issues: NFS, kernel, networking, storage, and server hardware
- Perform performance engineering: identify bottlenecks, implement measurable fixes, and produce evidence-based root cause analysis
- Build observability and synthetic monitoring tooling to detect problems before users report them
- Work closely with development, networking, security, and other IT teams to deploy applications, integrate new technologies, and manage project lifecycles
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, architectural decisions, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures
Requirements
- 12+ years of extensive hands-on experience in Unix/Linux administration and enterprise infrastructure management.
- Strong expertise in automation using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform
- Strong experience with installation, configuration, administration, and support of enterprise infrastructure and operational tools.
- Deep understanding of system security hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and access control best practices.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues across multiple infrastructure layers.
-
Solid knowledge of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, subnetting, routing, and firewall fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document designs, procedures, and technical recommendations clearly.
