Job description

The Server Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, diagnosing, and repairing servers and related hardware. This position involves assembling and disassembling equipment, replacing defective components, running diagnostic and stress tests, and accurately documenting all repairs., * Inspect, test, and diagnose servers and related hardware.

  • Assemble and disassemble servers for evaluation and repair.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and identify defective components.
  • Replace parts and components as needed.
  • Run diagnostic and server stress tests and analyze the results.
  • Document symptoms, test results, repairs, and replaced parts in the shop floor system.
  • Track parts usage and maintain accurate consumption records.
  • Collaborate with motherboard repair, testing, quality control, and inspection teams.
  • Provide backup support for quality control, inspections, and motherboard testing when needed.
  • Follow established procedures for system and parts management.
  • Work closely with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and other departments.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of server architecture and hardware components.
  • Ability to assemble components and confirm that a server is functioning correctly.
  • Ability to run and understand hardware diagnostic tests.
  • Basic knowledge of networking architecture.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret common error codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and accurately document repairs.
  • Willingness to learn about new server hardware, technology, and networking systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint., * High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of electronic repair, computer hardware, or assembly/disassembly experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a low-volume PC or electronics production environment preferred.
  • Experience replacing components such as LCD screens, hard drives, and other computer hardware is preferred.
  • Familiarity with hardware from manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Toshiba, Apple, or Acer is a plus.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
