IT Support Technician

The entry-level IT Support Technician will be key to supporting Markham Contracting Co.’s day-to-day technical operations. This position is responsible for assisting with hardware setup, user account management, mobile device deployment, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior IT staff, across both our office and active job sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in IT within a construction environment., * Create and manage user accounts in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD

• Configure and deploy desktop PCs, laptops, and mobile devices, including for job-site personnel
• Provide technical support for end users across multiple platforms and locations, including active job sites
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including hardware and account setup
• Support and maintain Microsoft 365 (O365) services including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, including VPN access for remote job sites
• Assist with the rollout and support of business software used across the company (project management, accounting, and contract management tools)
• Maintain IT documentation and inventory records, including equipment, licenses, and warranties
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT team members when necessary

• 1-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role. Internships and relevant coursework are welcome.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows, hardware, printers, and network connectivity.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to assist both office staff and field teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting construction, field services, or other distributed operations.
• Familiarity with cloud-based project management or accounting software, such as Trimble Spectrum.
• Experience with AI-powered business tools or a willingness to learn and support new technologies.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification.
• Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
• Basic familiarity with SQL databases.
