Job description

The GeminiApp organization is building a universal assistant. One that is capable of helping people, enabling them to do new things. It is designed to empower users, understanding their goals and unique context, and working in the background using tools, involving users only when necessary. It will minimize distractions, reduce anxiety, and be available across multiple devices.

Within the GeminiApp organization, the Gemini Android and Chrome Integrations team is focused on making the Gemini experience ambient across all surfaces. By embedding Gemini into the Android OS, and the Chrome platform, we are able to meet users where they are, allowing to apply Gemini assistant. This work aims to make Gemini an intelligence that flows alongside the user-shrinking for a glance, expanding for depth, and holding context through user interactions.

In this role, you will work on a team focused on solving user problems with AI solutions. You will navigate ambiguity to define and build consumer-facing products and features, working across the stack in Android, iOS, Web, or backend services. We are looking for software engineers to design and implement frontend experiences and well-designed, scalable backend services. This role requires cross-functional collaboration both internally and across Google Product Areas (PAs), with an emphasis on Android and Chrome partnerships.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits, * Design, build, and deploy high-quality consumer product features across web, mobile (Android/iOS), or backend services.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and research teams to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions.
  • Develop simple, reusable, and scalable code libraries and frameworks to accelerate product development.
  • Iterate on product prototypes and features, balancing development velocity with a high standard of code quality and craft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more of the following: Web (JavaScript/TypeScript, React), iOS (Swift, Objective-C), Android (Kotlin, Java), backend or ML services.
  • Experience building and shipping consumer-facing software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
