Job description

  • Serve as Kwant’s primary onsite point of contact for the customer, providing responsive, professional day-to-day support.
  • Troubleshoot and perform light onsite fixes for Kwant gateways, sensors, badges, turnstiles, badge readers, devices, batteries, cabling, and related low-voltage equipment.
  • Diagnose basic hardware, wiring, connectivity, and configuration issues; document findings, work completed, and next steps.
  • Support routine badge and access-control requests, device checks, and basic system maintenance.
  • Use Kwant data and dashboards to help the customer understand operational activity and identify potential issues.
  • Communicate clearly with customer users, provide status updates, and explain technical issues in a simple, helpful way.
  • Coordinate with Kwant engineering, operations, and field technicians when an issue requires escalation or specialized support.
  • Maintain accurate records of devices, support requests, site activity, and completed work.
  • Follow site safety rules and represent Kwant professionally at all times.

Additional Project Support

As site needs evolve, this role may also support equipment moves, device replacements, installations, decommissioning/recommissioning, and other onsite projects. The Technical Support Associate will help assess the need, coordinate with Kwant’s engineering and field teams, and complete work that is appropriate to their training and experience.

For larger, complex, or specialized projects, the Associate will work alongside or escalate to Kwant’s field technicians and engineering team to ensure the work is completed safely and correctly., * What access-control or network-connected equipment have you worked with directly (sensors, badges, readers, turnstiles, cameras)? How long, and in what setting?

  • Tell me about a hardware or connectivity issue you diagnosed and fixed in the field. What made it tricky?
  • How do you decide when to fix something yourself versus escalate it? When did you last escalate?
  • Give an example of explaining a technical problem to a non-technical customer. How did they react?
  • Can you confirm full-time onsite in Hubbard/Waco, plus a valid license and reliable transportation? Are you able to reliably commute there daily?

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in technical support, field service, hardware support, access control, or a related role.
  • Hands-on ability to troubleshoot basic hardware, wiring, device, and connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with access-control equipment, sensors, cameras, badges/readers, low-voltage systems, or network-connected devices is strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking, cabling, and device connectivity.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize requests, and know when to escalate an issue.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Hubbard/Waco, Texas.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in construction technology, jobsite operations, data centers, physical security, access control or IoT.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, inventory tracking, or technical documentation.
