Walsworth is seeking a Mid-Level UX Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive user experiences and maintaining a scalable design system. The designer will engage in a multi-step process, including wireframes, user flows, final designs, prototypes, and specification documents. This role combines hands-on product design work with ownership of the design system. You will be responsible for maintaining and keeping up on the latest design system while contributing to the discovery and design of our digital product suite. Walsworth products include a wide range of highly interactive web applications and software, delivered on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

This is a hybrid, salaried, exempt position based out of our Walsworth - Overland Park, Kansas, office. The schedule is 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and maintain the UX team’s design system, ensuring consistency across products
- Create, document, and update reusable UI components, patterns, and design guidelines for the design system
- Educate designers and cross-functional teams on design system usage, implementation and best practices
- Design user-centered experiences from concept through implementation
- Translate business goals and user needs into clear, usable interface designs
- Present design work to cross-functional teams and respond constructively to feedback
- Assist with the execution of design research and usability testing
- Work with the Technology team through planning, definition, design, development, and testing phases to deliver intuitive, feature-rich software solutions.
Requirements
- Must include a link to a work portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and shipped digital products
- 2-5 years of experience in a related role
- Experience working with or contributing to a design system
- Proficiency with Figma
- Experience creating wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Understanding of UX principles, interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility standards
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
- Experience working in Agile product development environments
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen as part of our standard process
- U.S. work authorization is required. Walsworth does not offer employment sponsorship.
- Must be willing to commute into the Walsworth - Overland Park office on a regular basis. This is a hybrid position., * Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design or related design discipline
- Portfolio of effective interface design work or outstanding portfolio in a related design discipline
- A strong understanding of visual design and how it can shape and influence user interfaces
- Strong collaborative and organizational skills
- Ability to articulate the why as well as the what
- Dedication to detail and deadlines
- Experience using the Atlassian suite of products strongly preferred
- Experience working with a Tailwind based design system strongly preferred
