Job description
Cloud Operations & Infrastructure Management:
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot daily cloud infrastructure resources, including compute instances, storage, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN), and security.
- Monitor system metrics and logs, respond to alerts, and calmly provide high-level support on bridge lines during outages.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with other cloud engineers to ensure high availability of the production environment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure design, operational manuals, and technical procedures.
Automation, DevOps & Modernization:
- Drive a DevOps mindset across engineering teams by developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems using BICEP, ARM, Terraform, and YAML templates.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and containerization tools (Docker, AKS) to create highly scalable infrastructure.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) to automate changes and participate in production deployments.
- Develop robust scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to streamline both cloud and on-premises operations.
Risk & Compliance:
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks within your domain, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates and security best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong infrastructure and operations background to manage, maintain, and modernize our enterprise cloud environments. While the primary focus is on Microsoft Azure, candidates with a strong mix of AWS or Google Cloud Platform who bring high-level Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience will also be highly considered. This role bridges the gap between day-to-day cloud operations and forward-looking DevOps modernization. You will be responsible for ensuring the health and security of our production environments while actively building out automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure templates to streamline future deployments., Experience: 5-7 years of enterprise-level Systems Engineering experience with physical and virtual Microsoft-based systems, plus at least 3+ years managing a production Azure cloud environment.
Technical Expertise:
Expert knowledge of multiple Windows Server versions (2016/2019/2022/2025).
Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform strongly preferred).
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration, specifically Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS).
Prior experience in “big project” enterprise environments, IT consulting, or the financial services sector.
Education: 4-year degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field (additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for formal education).
