Job description

MV Transportation is seeking aJunior Network Admin. This individual shall be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.TheComputer Network Adminis responsible for handling various technology issues related to a transit environment and also supporting corporate infrastructure.

Provide support for MV’s IT environment for the clientcontrol-center and multiple providers. Currently, the environment includes production and training environments supporting approximately 50 desktops and 15 notebooks.

  • Responsibilities include desktop, telephone, application, & network support.
  • Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues for MV’sclientcontract, including remote support for providers accessing client’s IT systems.
  • Must be available for after-hours or weekend support as needed and respond in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the procurement of all software, hardware and other IT supplies related to the Mobility Transportation clientcontract.
  • Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Trapeze Software Application Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for MV and clientstaff for existing Trapeze scheduling, routing, dispatch, eligibility and customer service applications.
  • Develops best-practices and recommend system improvements to optimize features and modules within the Trapeze environments.
  • Assists with testing, installation, implementation and training of application upgrades, as well as new applications, including planning and analysis tools, as they relate to the contract.

  • Create and/or edit documentation related to the installed applications.

Push-to-Talk (PTT) Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for PTT radios for the control center and multiple providers.
  • Manage PTT radios by assigning to dispatch station and maintaining a sign out sheet for overflow dispatch staff, ensuring devices are charged for daily use and that spare batteries are available.
  • Responsible for assigning, labeling, programming, and replacing broken devices for control center and multiple providers.

Requirements

  • Highly proficient with Trapeze transit software is a MUST.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, relational databases (MS SQL Server preferable) and networking.
  • Proficient with the company’s major IT systems, services and technology frameworks (e.g. cloud computing, server virtualization, application delivery controller, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of computer, server, network, printer and peripheral hardware.

  • Experience supporting Windows 7, 10, Server, 2012 & 16, and Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with desktop, server and network management tools.
  • Experience with Cisco switches and routers.

  • Familiar with backup and disaster recovery.
