Job description

DevOps Migration Engineer - Mainframe Source Code Management is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, and optimization of the AMI DevX Code Pipeline platform, with a strong emphasis on migrating legacy or third-party Source Code Management (SCM) systems (e.g., Endevor, ChangeMan, Librarian) into DevX Code Pipeline. This role owns end-to-end migration planning and execution, lifecycle and metadata modeling, build/generate automation, deployment processing, API and toolchain integration, and security/governance configuration. The administrator partners closely with developers, testers, QA staff, operations teams, and project leaders to deliver a secure, stable, and streamlined solution. In some cases, integration with Git, Eclipse, VS Code, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps is also good to have. Requirements

Technical Skills *Strong experience with Mainframe (z/OS) environments *Preferred experience with AMI DevX Code Pipeline (formerly Compuware ISPW) *Hands-on experience with SCM tools like: Endevor, ChangeMan, Librarian, Panvalet and others *Knowledge of: JCL, TSO, ISPF Services (Panels, Skeletons, File Tailoring, CLIST and others) *Scripting skills:REXX, CLIST, * Experience: 5+ years in mainframe SCM/release management as administrator AND 2+ years in BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline (ISPW) strongly preferred

  • SCM Migration: Proven experience migrating from SCMs like Endevor, Librarian, ChangeMan and others; SCM data models and lifecycle workflows; Code promotion and versioning strategies; Generate and deploy activities
  • z/OS Fundamentals: JCL, JES2/3, ISPF, REXX; Dataset design (PDS/PDSE, VSAM); Understanidng of COBOL/Assembler/PL/I compiler and binder options
  • Developer Tooling: Git workflow for mainframe; Workbench for Eclipse; AMI DevX Workbench for VS Code - Code Pipeline extensions
  • Security & Compliance: Code Pipeline rule/object/method configuration; Enterprise security (RACF/ACF2/Top Secret)
  • Troubleshooting: SDSF log analysis, build/deploy diagnostics, performance tuning
  • Soft Skills: Communication, stakeholder management, training delivery, project execution, risk management; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Critical thinking, assertiveness and ability to provide constructive feedback

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The range listed is just one component of BMC’s employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.

At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range.
