Job description
Provides highly professional expertise for coordination with other state agency partners at the State Operations Center for TxDOTâs support for planning, response, and recovery during statewide events. Work requires working with partners from across the state during intense emergency events. Work requires contact with local, county, and state elected officials as well as some contact with private entities. Employees at this level are expected to have a calm attitude, and high level of problem solving skills in high-stress events. The employee will need to be able to make sound decisions during emergency event., * Assists in the development and review of policies on maintenance programs including emergency response (ER).
- Coordinates programs and projects to enhance efficiency and streamline operations such as but not limited to: TxDOT Homeland Security programs, TxDOT Emergency Response, TxDOT Maintenance training programs.
- Drives/travels to districts and maintenance offices to perform site visits and monitor maintenance programs such as provide training to districts on ER or other MNT programs.
- May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks
- Provides technical expertise and coordination for maintenance operations including prioritizing projects, monitoring correspondence and writing memorandums and reports. May serve as a project let on ER projects.
- Researches and evaluates data, interprets and analyzes results, prepares reports and recommends solutions to problems. This could include producing briefouts for senior leadership and state officials, and PowerPoints specific to trainings or events.
- Trains other employees in various aspects of maintenance programs. This could include various trainings on ER.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned, * Analyzing issues, facts, and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions
- Monitoring contracts and procedures
- Planning, coordinating and handling multiple projects within area of responsibility to meet short and long-term deadlines
- Leading projects and project teams
- Coordinating labor, materials, and equipment
- Analyzing and organizing business and technical data
- Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
- Interpreting applicable information
- Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
- Fingering-picking, pinching, typing; working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand
- Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
- Hearing-perceive sound at normal speaking levels;receive information by oral communication
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading

Requirements
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general studies.
Experience: 5 years experience in transportation maintenance, construction inspection or related activities. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driverâs license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
