Job description
As an Entry-Level Network Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to support and maintain our clients’ IT environments. You’ll assist with troubleshooting desktop and server issues, maintaining network infrastructure, implementing new technologies, and helping ensure our clients’ systems remain secure, reliable, and productive., * Provide remote and on-site technical support for client environments.
- Troubleshoot Windows desktop, server, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
- Support Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Maintain and monitor client networks to maximize uptime and performance.
- Assist with server, workstation, firewall, switch, and wireless deployments.
- Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Document work performed and communicate effectively with clients.
- Participate in client projects including system migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
- Provide exceptional customer service while building strong client relationships.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to learn. You don’t need to know everything-but you should have a solid technical foundation and a desire to grow.
Technical Knowledge
Experience or familiarity with:
- Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure and Microsfot Entra
- Active Directory
- TCP/IP networking
- DNS and DHCP
- Routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Wireless networking
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Endpoint security, antivirus, spam filtering, and multifactor authentication
- Microsoft Office applications
- Remote support tools and RMM platforms (ConnectWise Automate experience is a plus), * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Motivated self-learner with a passion for technology.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused.
- Must enjoy working directly with clients.
Requirements
- Must reside in Maryland.
- Must be willing to travel throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable personal vehicle with current insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check., * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar are a plus.
- Previous experience computer or network experence is a plus but not required., * You must be located within a 45-minute drive of our office in Germantown. This excludes most other states.
