Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician for a 4+ month contract opportunity in Burbank, CA. This role is focused heavily on structured cabling within a corporate data center environment, including copper and fiber installations, rack-and-stack support, IMAC activities, remote hands support, and infrastructure maintenance., * Perform Infrastructure Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMAC) activities across data center environments

  • Install, label, route, and maintain copper and fiber cabling in corporate data centers
  • Rack, stack, cable, and power enterprise hardware according to deployment standards
  • Install fiber jumpers, copper patch cables, rack blanking panels, and structured cabling components
  • Support cable routing and management to maintain optimal airflow and organization
  • Decommission and remove hardware, cabling, and infrastructure components safely
  • Provide remote hands support including power cycling, cable tracing, hardware swaps, and basic troubleshooting
  • Assist with fiber optic splicing and Telco circuit testing
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and asset tracking within ServiceNow, CMDB, and DCIM systems
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, and transportation of IT equipment
  • Support e-waste handling, hard drive destruction processes, and vendor coordination
  • Update documentation, panel schedules, rack elevations, and inventory databases
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and on-call support rotations as needed
  • Work closely with cross-functional infrastructure and operations teams across multiple sites

Requirements

Do you have experience in Telecommunications low voltage systems?, The ideal candidate will have experience working in enterprise or colocation data centers and be comfortable handling hardware installs, cable management, equipment moves, inventory tracking, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced production environment., * 1-5+ years of experience working in a data center technician, structured cabling, or infrastructure support role

  • Strong hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling in a corporate or enterprise data center environment
  • Experience performing rack-and-stack installations and hardware deployments
  • Familiarity with IMAC activities, cable management, and physical infrastructure support
  • Experience using ServiceNow, CMDB, DCIM, or related inventory management systems
  • Understanding of low-voltage cabling standards and best practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot physical connectivity and hardware issues
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and within team environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fiber optic splicing experience
  • Experience supporting colocation facilities or enterprise-scale environments
  • Data center auditing or compliance experience
  • Experience supporting shipping/receiving logistics and inventory reporting
