Job description
We are seeking a professional engineer with in-depth knowledge of carrier/transport and SIP access technologies. This position supports Architecture and Engineering functions for Collaboration and Productivity products. The role involves developing program schedules, creating communication materials for leadership, and producing engineering documentation for fast-moving programs., * Provide program guidance and develop engineering-focused program timelines in partnership with the program management office.
- Develop ROM/SOW quotes for projects for equipment placement and licensing.
- Assist in developing project documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), cost estimates, and equipment placement requests.
- Directly support business-initiated projects and communicate status updates to leadership.
- Provide local software and hardware support for complex integrated configurations, including Session Border Controller, Security Services, E911, SIP, and LAN/WAN.
- Complete SIT testing, document results, and develop scripts, MOPs, and low-level designs for implementation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of telecommunications experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in LAN/WAN networking.
- Experience in program communication and program management.
- Experience with configuration and support in a complex, multi-layered network environment.
- Experience working under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of session border controllers (Ribbon 7k) and SIP/TDM Trunking at a carrier level.
- Knowledge of SIP, RTP/RTCP, ISDN, H.323, H248, MGoogle Cloud Platform, and codecs.
- Experience with QoS configurations, jitter, diagnosing and tuning QoS, and performing bandwidth analysis.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, switches, and routers.
- Working knowledge of call flows, system architecture, and design principles.
- Familiarity with Agile tools (Jira) and SDLC knowledge.
Education:
- BA or BS in Telecommunications, Data Communications, or Computer Science.
Professional Competencies
- Customer service skills, including reporting, organization, and task prioritization.
- Communication skills for creating PowerPoint presentations, Visio diagrams, and structured program updates.
- Ability to participate in cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
