Job description

Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Diagnose and resolve service issues involving network infrastructure, wireless access points (APs), VoIP, and related technology across all DACC locations.

  • Install, provision, configure, and maintain telecommunications and network equipment including: Network switches, Structured Cabling, Cisco IP phones, Wireless access points and Uninterruptible Power Supply systems (UPS)
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, testing, and verification of network cabling and line quality using specialized diagnostic tools (network testers) and basic knowledge of cable standards and pairings.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contracted service providers on equipment upgrades, installations, repairs, and maintenance projects as needed.
  • Create and manage user accounts and perform basic licensing and administrative tasks using Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other administrative tools.
  • Collaborate with other IT personnel to ensure reliable operation of network and telecommunications services throughout DACC.
  • Document service requests, installations, repairs, maintenance activities, and technical procedures accurately and completely.
  • Provide professional, courteous, and effective technical support to faculty, staff, and students while maintaining excellent customer service.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: High School diploma + 1 years of relevant experience, or higher degree.

Equivalent Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

  • Networking certification
  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager

Special Certification/Licensure:

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.

Risk: Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
