Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Adobe Commerce (Magento) Architect to serve as the senior technical authority for our enterprise eCommerce platform. This individual will own the overall architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, and strategic direction of our Adobe Commerce ecosystem while partnering closely with multiple engineering teams and business stakeholders.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring our commerce platform remains stable, scalable, and capable of supporting evolving business needs. The ideal candidate combines deep Adobe Commerce expertise with broad enterprise architecture experience, strong consulting skills, and the ability to mentor development teams across a complex technology landscape.
This is not a pure development role. We are looking for a well-rounded architect who can design solutions, establish standards, influence technical decision-making, and provide hands-on guidance when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the organization’s senior Adobe Commerce (Magento) subject matter expert and platform architect.
Define and maintain the long-term architecture strategy for Adobe Commerce across the enterprise.
Partner with engineering leaders, product teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate, design, and implement new commerce capabilities.
Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance for platform enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
Ensure platform stability, scalability, availability, performance, and security across all commerce environments.
Design and oversee integrations between Adobe Commerce and enterprise systems including ERP platforms, APIs, order management systems, payment platforms, inventory systems, and third-party services.
Establish and enforce development standards, coding practices, architectural principles, and platform governance.
Provide hands-on architectural leadership during major initiatives, upgrades, and complex technical implementations.
Mentor developers, architects, and engineering teams while raising overall technical maturity across the organization.
Collaborate with multiple agile teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the commerce platform ecosystem.
