Principal Azure Cloud & Data Engineering Architect (100% Remote)

We are seeking a Principal Azure Cloud & Data Engineering Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale cloud solutions. This role will drive statewide cloud modernization initiatives by building secure, scalable, cloud-native integration platforms supporting enterprise applications, SAP, ERP, HR systems, and state agencies., * Lead the architecture and implementation of enterprise Azure cloud solutions.

• Design cloud-native integration platforms using REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
• Build scalable Azure data platforms, data lakes, and modern data engineering solutions.
• Develop cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technical design patterns.
• Provide technical leadership for DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), security, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote cloud engineering best practices.
• Produce technical documentation, solution architecture, and governance artifacts.
• Support enterprise modernization initiatives across statewide agencies and business applications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of enterprise technology architecture and solution design experience.
• 7+ years designing and implementing cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
• Strong experience with:

• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates)

• Enterprise Architecture Standards & Governance, * Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or TOGAF certification.
• Experience integrating SAP, SAP S/4HANA, ERP, HR, or enterprise financial systems.
• Experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Government, public sector, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.

• Fully Remote with occasional onsite travel (2-4 business days per month or as required).
