Job description
Alethia Software is seeking an experienced TMAC Database Administrator III to join our team in Colorado Springs. This senior technical position will support mission-critical databases and associated systems and infrastructure within a secure operational environment. This role combines database administration with systems, platform, security, and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting complex technical environments and supporting systems where availability, reliability, security, and operational readiness are critical. COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) experience is required for this position.
What You’ll Do: Administer, maintain, and support mission-critical databases. Manage database users, accounts, permissions, and access. Perform and validate database backups and restorations. Monitor database health, availability, integrity, and performance. Apply and coordinate database and system security updates. Troubleshoot database, server, platform, and infrastructure issues. Identify and resolve database performance and reliability issues. Coordinate upgrades and configuration changes with systems administrators and engineering teams. Support development, integration, test, sustainment, and operational environments. Maintain database, system, maintenance, and configuration documentation. Maintain backup logs, security artifacts, and compliance documentation. Support COMSEC account-management responsibilities. Support technical audits and compliance activities. Provide technical assistance and training to system users as required. Requirements
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent DoD/military training. 10+ years of relevant technical experience. Significant database and/or systems administration experience. Experience supporting Windows and/or Red Hat environments. Experience supporting secure DoD or other mission-critical systems. COMSEC Responsible Officer experience/designation. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Experience maintaining technical, security, and compliance documentation. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams. Ability to work onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Technical Experience: Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Tanzu, Kubernetes, Windows Server administration, Red Hat administration, network engineering and configuration, COMSEC account management, Technical Control, NSX engineering, SISP live mission support, test-bed administration, and space-system integration and test support.
Preferred Certifications: Relevant certifications may include Security+, VCTA, VCP, and DoD 8140 qualifying certifications.
