Job description
The Network Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering network infrastructure projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role combines core project management discipline with hands-on coordination of external vendors and service providers, serving as the primary liaison to ensure smooth, timely, and transparent communication between internal stakeholders and outside partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Some of the things youâll be doing:
Project Management
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, expansions, and new site deployments
- Develop project charters, scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using standard PM tools (e.g., ServiceNow and MS Project,)
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues; escalate as needed
- Facilitate project status meetings, prepare status reports, and communicate progress to stakeholders and leadership
- Manage project documentation, including network diagrams, change requests, and post-implementation reviews
- Ensure projects comply with the clientâs ET standards, security policies, and change management processes
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including network engineers, systems administrators, security staff, and business stakeholders
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, technology team leads, and business teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to project team members.
Vendor Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and network hardware, software, and telecom vendors (ISPs, carriers, equipment manufacturers, MSPs, contractors)
- Facilitate clear, timely, and accurate communication between internal teams and vendor representatives to keep projects aligned and on schedule
- Coordinate vendor onboarding, kickoff meetings, and ongoing status calls
- Track vendor deliverables, SLAs, and contractual milestones; follow up proactively on outstanding items
- Review vendor proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and quotes in partnership with procurement and technical leads
- Resolve vendor-related issues, delays, or escalations, acting as a liaison to keep resolution moving efficiently
- Support contract renewals, RFP/RFQ processes, and vendor performance evaluations
- Maintain a central log of vendor contacts, contracts, and communication history for audit and continuity purposes
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7+ years of project management experience, with a focus on IT infrastructure or network projects (Comcast, Palo Alto, and/or Infoblox)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, routing/switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity)
- Demonstrated experience managing external vendor relationships and contracts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency with project management software and collaboration tools
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and vendors
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM certification
- CCNA, Network+ or equivalent networking certification
- Experience with ITIL change management processes
- Prior experience negotiating vendor contracts or SLAs
- Familiarity with telecom circuit ordering and carrier coordination
