Join the creative community of Massachusetts College of Art and Design and help shape the digital experience of the College.
MassArt is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and detail-oriented Senior Web Producer to join its Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Web and Digital Strategy, this role is responsible for producing, maintaining, and improving content across the College’s public website and internal digital platforms.
The Senior Web Producer combines web production, editorial and visual quality assurance, accessibility, digital asset management, project coordination, editor support, and cross-campus collaboration to ensure MassArt’s digital presence is engaging, accurate, accessible, and reflective of the College’s creative community.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on production work with larger institutional initiatives, building relationships with colleagues across the College, and continuously improving the user experience through thoughtful content and digital best practices., Web Content Production
- Create, edit, format, and publish content using WordPress and other content management systems.
- Build and maintain academic program and department pages, admissions content, news stories, landing pages, campaign pages, and institutional communications.
- Apply editorial standards, content models, and visual best practices to create engaging user experiences.
- Prepare and optimize images, artwork, video, and other digital assets for publication.
- Support time-sensitive announcements, events, campaigns, and emergency communications.
Content Quality, Accessibility & SEO
- Ensure content is accurate, accessible, visually consistent, aligned with editorial standards, and optimized for search.
- Use accessibility monitoring tools to identify and remediate inaccessible content and coordinate platform use and accessibility work with content owners and technical teams.
- Use web analytics tools and data to inform content and user experience improvements.
- Incorporate SEO best practices to enhance content discoverability and search visibility
Web Operations & Digital Governance
- Manage and prioritize web support requests through TeamDynamix and collaborate on larger initiatives in Asana.
- Coordinate approvals, communicate progress, and document completed work.
- Maintain structured content, distribution lists, and other institutional data.
- Recommend improvements to workflows, governance, and publishing processes.
Training & Campus Partnership
- Train and support website editors across campus
- Develop documentation, training resources, and publishing standards.
- Conduct content audits and partner with departments to improve, archive, or reorganize existing content.
- Partner with campus stakeholders to develop web content that meets editorial standards, supports usability and complies with WCAG Level AA.
Multimedia & Digital Publishing
- Publish and organize video content on MassArt’s YouTube channels.
- Produce and edit HTML email templates and other digital communications.
- Support additional digital platforms, including MassArt Connect and other institutional systems.
- Contribute to major College initiatives, admissions cycles, events, Commencement, and institutional campaigns.
Requirements
- Four or more years of experience in web production, digital communications, content management, or a related field.
- Experience creating, editing, and publishing digital content in WordPress or another modern CMS.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Experience coordinating projects and managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong visual judgment and understanding of information hierarchy, typography, photography, and user experience.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and experience applying accessible publishing practices to web pages, documents, images, or multimedia content.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach., * Experience managing website content for a higher education institution, the arts, a nonprofit organization, or another complex institution.
- Experience using ticketing platforms and project management software such as TeamDynamix and Asana.
- Experience supporting or training distributed website editors.
- Experience producing email newsletters, HTML templates, or managing multimedia content.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript for supporting interactive components and troubleshooting basic front-end issues.
- Familiarity with web analytics, behavioral analytics platforms, SEO, CRM list management, or digital accessibility testing tools.
