Job description

Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Senior Workday Security Admin to own and enhance a university’s Workday security framework, governance, compliance, and Workday Extend development initiatives. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for Workday security across HCM, Finance, Adaptive, and Student modules while helping drive future innovation through Workday Extend, AI capabilities, and process automation. The ideal candidate will have strong Workday security expertise, hands-on Workday Extend experience, and experience supporting a higher education environment., * Own and maintain Workday security architecture, including Security Groups, Domain Security Policies, Business Process Security Policies, and role-based access.

  • Conduct security audits, access reviews, compliance assessments, and segregation of duties (SoD) reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and institutional security requirements.

  • Lead and support Workday Extend application development from requirements gathering through deployment and support.

  • Partner with HR, Finance, Student, and IT stakeholders to identify and implement secure Workday solutions.

  • Configure and support Workday reporting, integrations, authentication policies, and user provisioning.

  • Support Workday releases, change management, governance, and security roadmap planning.

  • Stay current on Workday releases, security trends, AI capabilities, and best practices.

  • Mentor team members and provide guidance across Workday development and security initiatives.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years of Workday Security experience.

  • Experience being a part of Workday Implementations.

  • Experience supporting Workday in a Higher Education environment.

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Security Groups

  • Domain Security Policies

  • Business Process Security

  • Role-Based Security

  • User Provisioning

  • Access Controls

  • Security Auditing

  • Segregation of Duties (SoD)

  • Experience with Workday Extend development and administration.

  • Experience supporting multiple Workday modules including HCM, Finance, Student, and/or Adaptive Planning.

  • Experience with Workday Reporting and Report Writer.

  • Understanding of Workday integrations, APIs, and data security.

  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical Workday solutions.

  • Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills. Nice-to-Haves:

  • Workday Security Certification.

  • Workday Extend Certification.

  • Workday Integration Certification.

  • Experience with Workday Student.

  • Experience in higher education, academic medical centers, or large complex enterprises.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and XSLT.

  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.

  • Experience with SOX, GDPR, or other data privacy and compliance frameworks.
