Job description

The Solutions Architect assists the Enterprise Architect in defining, documenting, disseminating, implementing, and enforcing architecture and technical standards across multiple Agile delivery teams. This is a hands-on, dual-mandate role: the Solutions Architect must be equally comfortable translating enterprise architecture direction into practical, buildable solution designs and upholding the governance discipline - standards, documentation, and enforcement - that keeps a large, multi-team modernization program architecturally consistent. Candidates who can operate credibly in both modes, working shoulder-to-shoulder with delivery teams while also defending standards in governance forums, are strongly preferred., * Translate enterprise architecture direction, technical standards, and business requirements into actionable solution designs, interface patterns, and implementation approaches.

  • Work directly with developers, technical leads, and architects on feature delivery teams to ensure solution designs are understood and correctly implemented.
  • Review technical designs, implementation approaches, and development work products to identify architecture deviations, integration risks, and design gaps.
  • Turn high-level architectural direction into practical, buildable solutions that fit program constraints, delivery timelines, and team capacity.
  • Support architecture execution across multiple teams, releases, and program increments in an Agile / iterative delivery environment.
  • Support the definition, documentation, and dissemination of architecture standards, solution patterns, integration approaches, and implementation guidance across the program.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of cross-cutting architecture requirements, including API design, data exchange patterns, cloud architecture standards, security considerations, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Identify and escalate architecture deviations, integration risks, and opportunities for standardization or reuse.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect, Security Engineer, Product teams, and feature development teams to keep architectural governance current and enforceable, not just documented.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT and application development experience.
  • 6+ years of Federal IT experience building large-scale IT solutions using open architectures, cloud services, and modern DevSecOps practices.
  • 4+ years in an Enterprise/Solutions Architect role defining and implementing architectural/technical standards and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience with TOGAF, FEAF, or an equivalent architecture framework.
  • Demonstrated experience translating architecture direction and business requirements into concrete solution designs and technical guidance for development teams - with a track record of hands-on delivery, not just documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the definition, documentation, dissemination, and enforcement of architecture standards across multiple Agile delivery teams.
  • Experience working in Agile / iterative development environments, supporting architecture execution across multiple teams, releases, or product increments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)., * Experience supporting Federal Government systems modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with modern application, integration, and cloud-based architecture approaches.
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture framework credential.

Security / Suitability Requirements

This position supports a U.S. federal government program and requires successful completion of a public trust background investigation (Tier 2 or higher, per HSPD-12 and federal agency suitability requirements) prior to receiving government system access. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR); positions designated Moderate Risk require LPRs to have at least three consecutive years of U.S. residency. A favorable preliminary suitability determination is required prior to starting work, with a favorable final fitness determination required prior to obtaining privileged IT access., * Do you meet the citizenship requirements from the JD, and are you willing to be processed for Public Trust Tier 2 eligibility investigation?

License/Certification:

  • SAFe SA (Preferred)
  • TOGAF, FEAF, or an equivalent architecture framework (Required)
