Head of Data Engineering & Platform

Experteer Overview In this role you’ll shape Mercury’s data foundation to empower analytics, AI, and operational systems. You’ll lead a senior data engineering team, set a long-term data platform strategy, and build reusable data products and semantic models that make data easy to discover and trust. You’ll establish reliability, governance, and privacy foundations while partnering with engineering, product, security, and infra leaders to accelerate decision-making. This is a high-impact opportunity to enable data-driven product development at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of senior data and analytics engineers for Mercury’s core data infrastructure * Define and execute the long-term data platform strategy, architecture, tooling, and reusable data products * Create a platform enabling easy data discovery and use for people and AI through semantic models, metadata, and developer tooling * Establish foundations for a trusted, resilient platform with reliability, observability, data quality, governance, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance * Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Security, and Infrastructure leaders to accelerate product development, operations, and decision-making Tasks * 10+ years of relevant experience * 5+ years leading data or engineering teams * Architected modern data platforms at scale with data foundations, semantic layers, metadata, and platform capabilities * Expertise in data infrastructure: data modeling, orchestration, streaming, storage, metadata, governance * Experience partnering with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to meet regulatory standards in a regulated financial institution Key requirements * base salary * equity (stock options/RSUs) * benefits
