Job description
In this role, you will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support, manage workstation configurations, maintain Active Directory accounts, and resolve hardware and software issues to keep TAP operations and transition counseling computer labs running smoothly., Desktop & Hardware Support: Provision, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop PCs, thin clients, laptops, high-volume laser printers, and peripherals across the TAP facility at Fort Riley. User & System Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Active Directory; assist staff and transitioning service members with CAC/PKI access and software issues. Operating System & Software Maintenance: Install, patch, and support Microsoft Windows Enterprise OS build standards, including Army Gold Master (AGM) configurations and DoD Secure Host Baseline (SHB). Network & Connectivity Troubleshooting: Diagnose local network connectivity, IP addressing, switch patch connections, and peripheral device interfaces. Ticketing & SLA Tracking: Log, update, and resolve service requests and technical incidents in a timely manner within the government ticketing system. Security & Compliance: Ensure all workstations comply with DoD cybersecurity guidelines, Army NetOps standards, and IAT Level II baseline requirements.
Requirements
Clearance: Must hold an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance at time of application. Certification: Active CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M / 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification). Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of desktop support, workstation administration, or helpdesk experience. Technical Skills: Microsoft Windows 10/11 Enterprise OS administration. Active Directory user/computer account management. Hardware diagnostic skills (desktops, printers, multi-function devices, scanners). Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Soft Skills: Excellent customer service, strong written and verbal communication, and ability to work independently on-site. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting IT operations on a U.S. Army installation (preferably Fort Riley) or DoD enterprise environment. Familiarity with Army Gold Master (AGM) workstation builds and Army NetOps standards.
