Job description
Monday through Friday, flexible hours, approximately 20 hours per week, The Honors Program Office Assistant assists the Honors Coordinator with the daily operations of the Honors Program. Duties include providing friendly and professional assistance to students; supporting Honors applications and scholarship processes; maintaining student records and tracking program requirements; assisting with communications, outreach, recruitment, Honors projects, and co-curricular activities; preparing materials; supporting orientations and special events; and performing general office duties and other Honors Program tasks as assigned. This position requires maintaining confidentiality when working with student information and referring scholarship eligibility, exceptions, and policy decisions to Honors staff., Student must be attending Paradise Valley Community College during the current semester (enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits).
- FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the student’s academic goals.

Requirements
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Basic computer skills with the ability and willingness to learn college systems.
- Ability to work professionally with students, faculty, and staff; maintain accurate records; follow directions; exercise appropriate judgment; and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Experience working with computer software such as: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canvas, or similar technology is preferred but not required
