Job description

  • Define and evolve enterprise TDM architecture covering data masking, subsetting, synthetic data generation, data refresh, provisioning, virtualization and test-data discovery.
  • Design scalable TDM solutions across heterogeneous environments including:

o Mainframe - DB2, VSAM, sequential datasets, GDGs and related technologies.

o Distributed databases - Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2 LUW and similar platforms.

o Cloud/data platforms and enterprise data lakes.

o APIs, files, messaging and integrated application ecosystems.

  • Define reusable test-data patterns based on recurring application and QA requirements.
  • Evaluate enterprise TDM products and capabilities against technical and business requirements without being tied to a specific vendor.
  • Develop solution architectures, technical workflows, capability matrices, PoCs and platform recommendations.
  • Partner with Information Security and Data Governance teams to establish masking, privacy and non-production data controls.
  • Integrate TDM capabilities with CI/CD pipelines, test automation and self-service provisioning workflows.
  • Explore opportunities for AI-assisted and synthetic test-data generation while maintaining security and data-quality controls.
  • Provide architecture and technical leadership to offshore TDM engineers.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with application architects, engineering teams, DBAs, data teams and senior technology stakeholders.
  • Define operational metrics including provisioning lead time, refresh duration, automation coverage, masking compliance and service reliability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT/data engineering or Quality Engineering experience with significant experience in Test Data Management.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise TDM concepts and architecture.
  • Hands-on knowledge of:

o Data masking and de-identification.

o Data subsetting.

o Synthetic test-data generation.

o Database refresh and cloning.

o Automated/self-service provisioning.

o Referential-integrity management.

o Test-data discovery and profiling.

  • Strong SQL and relational database expertise.
  • Experience working with complex enterprise application/data landscapes.
  • Knowledge of mainframe and distributed data technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud/data-lake architectures and modern data platforms.
  • Experience integrating engineering platforms through APIs, CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, PII handling and non-production security controls.
  • Ability to create enterprise architecture diagrams, solution designs and technical standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with commercial or enterprise TDM platforms such as K2view, Broadcom Test Data Manager, Delphix, BMC Compuware/File-AID or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with Databricks or modern enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience with ServiceNow-based request/workflow integration.
  • Experience implementing TDM self-service portals or APIs.
  • Exposure to GenAI/Agentic AI approaches for test-data discovery, generation or orchestration.

Leadership Expectations The successful candidate should be able to move comfortably between architecture and implementation-from presenting an enterprise TDM strategy to senior technology leaders to working with engineers on the technical mechanics of provisioning data across databases and applications. The architect will serve as the primary onsite technical authority for TDM and ensure that tactical application requirements contribute toward reusable enterprise capabilities rather than isolated point solutions.
