Job description
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications on IBM mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS, with the ability to analyze business requirements, deliver efficient code, and ensure system reliability. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical applications., * Develop COBOL programs for batch and online processing.
- Write and optimize JCL to execute jobs and manage workflows.
- Design and maintain VSAM files for data storage and retrieval.
- Work with DB2 databases to create queries, stored procedures, and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and support CICS transactions for online applications.
- Perform system analysis, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, documentation, and testing practices.
- Provide production support and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
Requirements
Do you have experience in System tuning?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in mainframe application development.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
- Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and production support.
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and agile practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mainframe modernization projects.
- Familiarity with Rexx, Easytrieve, or other mainframe utilities.
