Job description

We are seeking a talented Mainframe Developer with 10-15 years of experience to join our team in Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for mainframe development and maintenance, analysis of business requirements, and the creation of technical design documents. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of DB2, and extensive experience in mainframe environments., 1. Work closely with business analysts and other developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical design and system specifications.

  1. Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
  2. Perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing, and support for mainframe systems.
  3. Ensure that systems are developed, enhanced, and maintained in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  4. Troubleshoot complex system and user issues and identify solutions.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  6. Provide technical leadership on mainframe technologies to the team and organization.
  7. Regularly update technical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  1. 10-15 years of experience in mainframe development, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  2. Proficient in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
  3. Experience in SQL and database design.
  4. Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  6. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  7. Experience in Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  8. Familiarity with modern mainframe tools and utilities.
