Job description

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable PRN Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist to support our Medical Records department.

This position is responsible for maintaining, organizing, scanning, indexing, retrieving, and processing patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, customer-service focused, and able to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information.

Requirements

  • Paid time off, This position is an as-needed (PRN) role designed to provide coverage during staff absences and periods of increased workload.
  • During the initial training and onboarding period (approximately 4 to 6 weeks), the selected candidate should expect to work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Following training, hours will vary based on departmental needs and may include coverage for:
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Sick leave and call-outs
  • Leaves of absence
  • Other staffing needs as they arise

Please note that weekly hours are not guaranteed after the training period and will be scheduled according to operational needs.
