Job description

Title: Technician I, Information Technology Performs basic tasks to provide technical support for a range of hardware and software, which include computers, Macs, Chromebooks, interactive boards, and network infrastructure. Facilitates technical training and support at various school locations or from a central office. Performs duties under direct supervision as an entry-level individual contributor. Essential Job Duties

  • Provides technical support and resolves issues related to software, hardware, phone systems, and network connectivity for end-users.
  • Assists with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of technology equipment such as computers, laptops, Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, peripherals, and wireless technology.
  • Oversees Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) support at a basic competency level while ensuring proper network infrastructure functionality.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records for technology equipment and administers asset management processes to ensure devices are accounted for and in working order.
  • Responds to IT support tickets promptly and provides guidance to users on the effective use of technology.
  • Ensures the timely resolution of incidents and service requests through various channels, including phone calls, emails, or in-person.
  • Collaborates with school administrators or staff to meet their technological needs by providing guidance on IT-related matters as required.
  • Performs administrative tasks related to technology management.
  • Follows established standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • A+ certification or N+ certification is preferred.
