Job description
Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Printer Technician to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for networked printers, multifunction devices, copiers, and print management systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting printing environments, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service while working independently in the field or onsite. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and deploy printers, copiers, multifunction devices (MFDs), and related hardware.
- Diagnose and resolve printer hardware, software, connectivity, and print quality issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and component replacements on printing equipment.
- Troubleshoot network printing issues involving TCP/IP, print servers, print queues, drivers, and connectivity.
- Install and update printer drivers, firmware, and print management software.
- Support users with printing, scanning, faxing, and document workflow issues.
- Respond to service tickets and provide timely resolution of printer-related incidents.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and inventory documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for warranty services, parts replacement, and escalations.
- Perform device moves, additions, and changes across multiple locations.
- Maintain inventory of toner, parts, and printer supplies.
- Train users on printer functionality and best practices.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience supporting printers, copiers, multifunction devices, or related equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting printer hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of network printing concepts, including TCP/IP, print queues, print servers, and driver management.
- Experience supporting Windows environments.
- Familiarity with scanning, faxing, and document management workflows.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move printer equipment when required.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between customer sites if needed. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting HP, Canon, Ricoh, Xerox, Lexmark, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, or Sharp devices.
- Experience with Managed Print Services (MPS) environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
- Manufacturer certifications from HP, Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, or similar vendors.
- Experience supporting print management solutions such as PaperCut, PrinterLogic, or Equitrac.

Benefits & conditions
This is a Contract position based out of New Haven, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
