Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Manager, Data Governance Implementation for a top utility and energy client. This leader will oversee a team responsible for implementing and operationalizing data governance controls across a modern Enterprise Data & AI Platform, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in cloud data governance, metadata management, data quality, privacy, and security with proven leadership experience. This individual will drive governance standards, regulatory compliance, and access-control processes while partnering closely with architecture, engineering, and enterprise governance teams. This is a unique opportunity to build and mature governance capabilities that enable trusted, secure, and compliant data products supporting enterprise analytics and AI initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience leading technical teams within cloud-based data environments
- Strong background in data governance frameworks and metadata management
- Deep understanding of data quality tools and business-rule implementation

Strong regulatory compliance knowledge, including: PI/PII data controls NERC CIP requirements Financial data governance

Hands-on experience with: Access controls Data classification Data security policies Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Experience implementing governance controls across enterprise data platforms
- Ability to partner with architects, engineers, business stakeholders, and governance organizations
- Experience defining and managing SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Driver’s License
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related technology field
- Utility, energy, or other highly regulated industry experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery
- Experience with Google Dataplex and Knowledge Catalog
- Experience implementing:
- Data governance standards
- Data contracts

Data observability practices -Experience integrating governance processes with: Google Dataplex Google Knowledge Catalog Microsoft Purview
- Experience supporting enterprise analytics and AI platforms
- Experience with Azure Databricks and/or C3.ai environments
- IT-related technical certifications
- GCP Cloud Digital Leader certification
- GCP Professional Data Engineer certification
- GCP Cloud Security Engineer certification
