Job description

  • Pull, route, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling according to TIA/EIA standards.
  • Assist with RJ45 connector terminations and patch panel installations.
  • Perform cable labeling and identification.
  • Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
  • Support cable testing using tools such as Fluke and EXFO under supervision.
  • Assist with fiber cable dressing, handling, and organization.
  • Help build out racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow direction from senior technicians and project supervisors.
  • Follow all safety and quality standards on site.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience with cable installation, fiber handling, rack and cabinet builds, terminations, and testing. Candidates with experience in fiber cluster, pulling, and porting are highly preferred., * High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous experience with structured cabling, telecom, low-voltage, or data center environments preferred.
  • Experience testing equipment/cabling, building racks/cabinets, and terminating patch panels.
  • Basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
  • Ability to work with color-coded wiring.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work days, nights, and weekends based on project needs.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English (bilingual candidates are a plus).
  • OSHA 10 certification required within the first 2 weeks of employment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Fiber optic installation experience.
  • Experience with fiber pulling, clustering, and porting.
  • Experience supporting large-scale data center or telecom projects.
