Job description

For these contractor assignments, we are seeking detail oriented and proactive full stack developers to work as part of a cross functional product development team to define, develop, deploy and maintain end to end consumer facing products and applications in all levels of our cloud, JavaScript and TypeScript based application stack. They perform development testing activities, and document how applications should be maintained.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • The developers will work in established sprints using Agile/ Scrum ways of working.

  • The developers will be involved in every aspect of the development cycle - clarifying business requirements and detailing the technical requirements, development and testing.

  • High collaboration with product strategists, designers, other developers, quality assurance analysts and vendors., * The developers will work in established sprints using Agile/ Scrum ways of working.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in React with other JavaScript ES6 concepts and use within a modern JavaScript-based framework such as Vue or Angular

  • Demonstrated expertise in Node with other server-side programming (C#, Java, Python) and GraphQL

  • Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)

  • Experience with Postgres database technologies (Postgres, RDBMS, NoSQL)

  • Familiarity with entity relationship design and modeling in distributed systems

  • Advanced analytical, technical troubleshooting, diagnosing and problem solving skills

  • Organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously

  • Ability to help others learn knowledge or skills in a specific area

  • Listening, verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Start-up experience

  • Insurance experience

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum four years of related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs and applications.

  • In lieu of the above, a minimum of six years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted.
