Job description
The House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring safe staffing, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination of patient care services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site leadership for all departments during assigned shifts
- Ensure safe staffing levels andappropriate patientassignments
- Serve as the primary escalation point for clinical and operational issues
- Support nursing staff with clinical decision-making and crisis intervention
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and patient safety standards
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and bed management

Respond to emergencies, including behavioral crises and codes
- Communicate with leadershipregardingincidents and operational concerns
- Assistwith audits, rounding, and documentation oversight, * Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Live Scan fingerprinting, background check clearance, and verification of required licenses, certifications, and education
- Satisfactory completion of professional reference checks
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Ocean View does not provide visa sponsorship for certain roles unless otherwise specified
- Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), The Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards

Compliance with all required health screenings and immunizationsin accordance withregulatory guidelines and facility policy, which may include tuberculosis (TB) testing, N95 fit testing, annual trainings, and proof of vaccination for certain communicable diseases
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts as needed, based on operational or patient care needs
Requirements
Do you have experience in Working with individuals with mental health conditions?, * Active California RN license
- Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in behavioral health
- Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity situations
- Demonstrated sound professional judgment; clinical judgment where applicable to licensure/role.
- Proficiencyin the use of computers and standard keyboard functions for data entry and electronic documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Current CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within90 daysof employment
- Demonstrate understanding andcompliancewith Patients’ Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols.

Pay: Depends on experience Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am Facility Overview Ocean View Psychiatric Health Facility is an adult psychiatric hospital in Long Beach that provides acute inpatient psychiatric treatment, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services in a structured, therapeutic environment. The facility is currently expanding its services and bed capacity from 39 to 79 beds to support both voluntary and involuntary mental health treatment needs while focusing on patient safety, stabilization, and continuity of care.
