Job description
Note: Hybrid work environment is expected to be 2-4 days/month on-site in Middletown PA, depending on planned testing activities. Preference will be given to candidates within a reasonable commuting distance of Middletown, PA.
Note: In addition to the PA ePATCH background check, PTC requires a National Criminal Background Check prior to engagement start.
We are seeking an Accessibility Test Analyst to add to our team assisting the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) Information Technology (IT) Department. The candidate will work under the direction of the Quality Manager and will be responsible for performing accessibility testing activities across enterprise applications, public websites, customer portals, mobile applications, digital documents, and vendor-hosted solutions.
Our Accessibility Test Analyst will perform the following duties;
- Plan, coordinate, and execute accessibility testing activities across multiple enterprise technology projects and operational support initiatives.
- Perform accessibility testing of public websites, internal applications, customer portals, mobile applications, digital forms, and electronic documents.
- Validate compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 Level AA.
- Participate in project planning, business requirements review, solution design sessions, and application demonstrations to ensure accessibility requirements are incorporated early within the Software Design Life Cycle.
- Develop accessibility testing strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed accessibility test cases.
- Execute both automated and manual accessibility testing using approved accessibility testing tools.
- Perform keyboard-only navigation testing and validate focus order, logical navigation, skip links, and keyboard accessibility.
- Validate color contrast compliance using Color Contrast Analyzer and other accessibility validation tools.
- Test dynamic web content, forms, tables, dialogs, multimedia, PDFs, and responsive web applications for accessibility compliance.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-device accessibility validation utilizing BrowserStack Ultimate.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track accessibility defects utilizing Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Validate remediation efforts and perform regression accessibility testing following defect resolution.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, UX/UI Designers, Project Managers, Quality Management, Infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to resolve accessibility issues.
- Prepare accessibility assessment reports, executive summaries, compliance dashboards, and project status updates.
- Provide accessibility recommendations and educate project teams on accessibility best practices.
- Assist in establishing enterprise accessibility standards, testing processes, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production readiness reviews, and post-implementation accessibility validation.
- Complete project-related tasks consistent with PA Turnpike SDLC, QM Playbook, PMO Standards, and Accessibility Governance guidelines.
Requirements
5+ Years: Quality Assurance and Accessibility Testing experience supporting enterprise applications, websites, and digital services
- Strong knowledge of ADA requirements
- Strong knowledge of Section 508 compliance
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards
- Experience performing both automated and manual accessibility testing
- Experience utilizing BrowserStack Ultimate for cross-browser and cross-device accessibility validation
- Experience utilizing Color Contrast Analyzer
- Experience with Accessibility Insights
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans and Boards
- Experience documenting accessibility defects and tracking remediation efforts
- Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, public websites, SharePoint sites, and PDF documents
- Strong understanding of ARIA, HTML5 semantic elements, CSS, JavaScript, and accessible web design principles
- Experience validating keyboard accessibility, focus management, screen reader compatibility, forms, tables, multimedia, and responsive design
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality accessible digital solutions
